It’s been nearly one year since I
last blogged. I've had so much to say. But for some reason as I begin to
document my thoughts, they all seem to jumble; leaving the point buried in
unnecessary rhetoric or jargon. Well, I'm in a good, mostly not scattered mental place today; so I think I can share what I need to.

Every day is a blessing. Every
breath is nothing short of a miracle. Every person who encourages us, laughs with
us and enhances our lives is a blessing. Are we thankful for such? No, INDEED!
The media, or the facade ridden buddy has convinced us that We aint shit; aint never gonna be shit because
we aint up on this, that and a third. So
we start to internalize. We start to beat ourselves up. We start to retreat and
succumb to the madness which strikes the match of greed and ignites the path
which becomes the award nominated Rat-Race. Because clearly if your hair isn't My Lil’ Pony Long, you aren't beautiful.
If you’re not driving a foreign car, you've failed…and what ARE you doing with your
$$? If you don’t live in a great big home, you are not living the American Dream
NIGHTMARE. If you can’t jump on a plane like this one or that one, you
force your way to try to “get like them” leaving a trail of debt and bad
decisions in the wind. It is never
enough. So certainly the fact that you had food in your refrigerator this
morning was not enough. Certainly the fact that you had a clear mind was not
enough. Certainly, the fact that you had a choice of what to clothe your
beautiful body with was not enough. Certainly, the fact that you can walk, or
talk was not enough. Nope, never enough. We've all been found guilty at some point. But behold, amnesty has arrived.
You get rain every
week, yet the man-made mall fountain is what you lust after.

Here’s what it is- If you do not appreciate what and who you
have NOW, why would the universe ever, ever cater to your selfish whims for
more?
Benediction: Take care of who and
what you have NOW. Don’t give your friends and loved ones flowers when the
breath no longer dances through their vessel. Tell them that you love and
appreciate them now. Go out of your way for the people you love and make them
smile sometimes. Take care of your home, your vehicle, your cell phone…whatever you've been blessed with; take care of it. Spit shine it and be proud of it.
Because I promise you, there is someone who would trade places with you in an instant.
There are some of us who will never, ever reach full potential or possess the
things/experiences that we so desire because we aren't being faithful Stewards
in the place where we are right now.
I leave you with peace and a commission
to be thankful.
